Sacramento SCLC: interpretation in Vietnamese, Hmong, Lao and other languages, plus ESL enquiries
Sacramento Cultural & Linguistic Center (SCLC), formerly the Southeast Asian Assistance Center, supports communities with limited English proficiency. Its FAQ lists Vietnamese, Hmong, Lao, Mien and Cambodian among its languages. Interpretation can be in person, by telephone or through Zoom; translation and document review are also offered. Southeast Asian families contacting local organizations can ask for their specific language or dialect and explain the date and purpose.
SCLC also accepts enquiries about English classes at different levels, in person or through Zoom. Call 916-421-1036 or email info@sclc.org to confirm schedules, spaces, format and registration. Request a separate quotation for interpretation or translation: the website distinguishes free language services for Sacramento County providers from paid services for individuals and businesses. Do not assume every service is free.
The center offers community-resource referrals but states that it is not a shelter and does not directly provide transitional housing. This is a language and learning resource guide, not confirmation of a reserved place in a course or service.
