New York TEENS: receiving notice of changes on an under-18 driver’s record
New York DMV's voluntary, free TEENS service informs a parent or guardian when specified events—such as a conviction, suspension, revocation, crash or ticket—appear on an under-18 child's DMV record. It is a record-notification service, not live location or driving surveillance.
Eligibility includes a New York license or non-driver ID for the parent or guardian. Enroll through the parent-consent section of the child's MV-44 application or complete and mail MV-TEENS as instructed. For office or mail enrollment, letters go to the parent's address on the DMV record. Participation ends automatically when the child turns 18. Notifications do not remove or change the underlying record.
