紐約汽車暫停使用：停保前先處理登記與車牌
紐約已登記汽車即使停在私人地方、不再駕駛，仍須維持責任保險。若要停止保障，應在保險終止前按 DMV 程序交回車牌及處理登記，並保存收據；單純把車停起來並不能避免保險中斷紀錄。

Parking a New York car does not by itself permit an insurance lapse
A registered New York car needs continuous liability insurance even when it is parked on private property and not driven. Before ending coverage, follow DMV’s plate-surrender and registration process and keep the receipt. Parking the car alone does not prevent an insurance-lapse record.
Respond promptly to a DMV lapse notice using the letter’s instructions. If coverage never stopped, ask the insurer to check and transmit the correct electronic insurance information, then follow up on the case. A payment receipt or one telephone call does not prove DMV’s record has been corrected. This guide concerns ordinary cars; special vehicle categories have separate rules.
