舊加州 CAV 貼紙已失效：使用共乘車道仍要看人數與收費

Expired California CAV decals: follow current occupancy and toll rules
A California Clean Air Vehicle decal still attached to a car does not authorize solo use of a carpool lane. DMV's current explanation says the program ended at midnight on September 30, 2025. Since October 1 that year, drivers must follow posted occupancy requirements and applicable toll rules.
A planned state extension did not mean federal authorization continued. When buying a used electric vehicle, do not value an old sticker as an active commuting privilege or decide lane access solely from its color or an earlier understanding of the program.
DMV does not require removal of the decal, but explicitly says it no longer provides lawful HOV access. Check individual toll amounts and account arrangements with the local toll authority instead of assuming the former CAV discount still applies. This is a guide to checking rules after the old program ended, not a new extension announcement or a decision on a particular citation.
