Bay Area book donations to Prisoners Literature Project
Prisoners Literature Project is volunteer-run and sends free books to incarcerated people across the United States. Bay Area donors can begin by sending clear photographs of book spines to the publicly listed contact, Bruno, at 510-434-6284, then ask about current needs and handover arrangements.
The organization prioritizes new or nearly new paperbacks and lists practical skills, reference material, selected fiction and Spanish-language books among its interests. Marked or water-damaged books, textbooks and religious books are excluded. Sort first and contact the organization before transporting an unscreened collection.
Arrange delivery or pickup with the volunteer; do not assume a correspondence address is a donation counter. Official wish lists offer other support routes, but this guide places no order or donation and promises no delivery of a particular title to a chosen recipient.
