East Bay Depot in Oakland: check before donating creative materials
When clearing art or craft materials, check the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse entry in StopWaste's official RE:Source directory. It lists 4695 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, 510-547-6470 and donations@creativereuse.org for donation inquiries.
The directory distinguishes materials for reuse from general recycling. Its accepted-material information includes temporarily suspended categories, and some items require advance approval. Do not assume everything described as a craft supply will be accepted or leave a load outside the building.
List the material, quantity and condition before contacting the organization. Check the current acceptance list and receiving hours; the directory specifically warns against leaving donations outside drop-off times. This guide does not repeat old promotions or claim that particular goods are in stock. Acceptance depends on the organization's current arrangements. Use the contact details to confirm a suitable visit rather than treating this post as a collection booking.
