Marketplace purchases do not all come with the same help when something goes wrong. The FTC explains that some operators leave payments, delivery and returns to the buyer and seller, while others offer specific protections. Before paying, find out whether coverage applies to that seller and item, what the claim deadline is and how a return would work.
Read the seller’s separate terms, shipping charges and return policy. Get answers to questions in writing. Examine photographs and descriptions of the actual item rather than relying on generic promotional pictures to assess used goods. Keep the order and messages exchanged with both the seller and platform, and record the deadlines for returns or assistance.
Do not move payment outside the marketplace at a seller’s request; doing so can remove its protections. A refund is not guaranteed. The official page displays November 2024 without a specific day.
