Evergreen reference guide. Orange County OCTA FSP provides limited free help on designated freeways during patrol hours; check the official coverage map. Call 511 and choose Motorist Aid; use 911 for emergencies.
511 may arrange an auto club, private provider or eligible, available FSP; not every service is free. FSP offers jump-starts, tire changes and one gallon of fuel. Vehicle weight, leaks and safety conditions can restrict assistance. Eligible towing ends at a CHP-designated location, not a chosen repair shop. FSP accepts neither payment nor tips; private rotation towing can charge fees.
