English
Trump says Fort Hood gunman’s execution will not be livestreamed; victims’ immediate families may attend
Donald Trump said the execution of Fort Hood gunman Nidal Hasan would not be livestreamed and that victims’ immediate families could choose to attend. The Hill reported the decision in a video published on October 15. An earlier Washington Examiner report that day and Trump’s public statement also make clear that the change concerns the broadcast, rather than cancellation of the death sentence.
Trump said in the statement that the scheduled firing-squad execution would still proceed. This summary reports his announced decision; it does not say the execution has already occurred or repeat the statement’s political accusations.
AI-assisted summary, checked against the publisher’s description and the public statement; not a video transcript.
Correction: The earlier English summary incorrectly referred to lethal injection. The statement specifies a firing squad; the cancellation concerns the livestream, not the death sentence.
