紐約無障礙停車許可：向居住地發證單位申請，先分清州證與市證

New York disability parking permits: apply locally and distinguish state from city privileges
Ordinary New York disability parking permits are issued free by the designated authority in your city, town or village of residence, not by DMV. Ask the local clerk about applications and medical documentation. Eligible people need neither a driving licence nor their own vehicle and may use a permit as passengers. Authorised professionals and the issuing authority determine eligibility; this guide does not assess an individual.
Use is allowed only when the permit holder travels in the vehicle. Even permanent permits expire. Display the permit when parked and remove it before driving; keep striped access aisles clear. A state permit does not automatically waive parking charges or other restrictions. New York City has a separate city permit for certain kerbside privileges. Check locally about loss, renewal or a move into the state.
