San Diego County surplus: public auctions follow a separate donation stage
San Diego County uses two stages for surplus furniture, equipment, vehicles and other personal property: eligible community partners can first request donations, then unclaimed items proceed to public online auction. Ordinary shoppers should not treat the partner stage as a universal free-goods program.
Public auctions use GovDeals and require bidder registration; enter through the county’s official link. The community-partner route has eligibility review and Release of Liability requirements, with collection only after confirmation. The county does not deliver items.
Read the individual auction’s description, condition, payment and collection terms before bidding. This gateway concerns county surplus personal property, separate from estate or tax-defaulted real-estate auctions. The guide does not claim that any specific lot remains available.
