Medi-Cal 遺產追償：核對死亡日期、服務種類與通知期限
Medi-Cal 對部分受助人五十五歲後接受的福利追償，但不是所有看診費都一律由家屬償還。對 2017 年 1 月 1 日或之後死亡的人，DHCS 指引限制於須經遺囑認證的遺產，以及指定護理機構、居家社區服務和相關醫院／藥物費用。死亡時沒有資產，便沒有可追償金額。
處理遺產者須在死亡後九十日內向 DHCS 提交通知及死亡證明。若收到追償信，應及早核對豁免及重大困難寬免；後者申請期限是信上日期起六十日。官方頁列有聯絡及表格，不應忽略通知或把所有帳項直接當成私人欠款。

Medi-Cal estate recovery: check the death date, services and notice deadline
Medi-Cal recovery concerns certain benefits received after age 55, rather than every medical bill becoming a family debt. For deaths on or after January 1, 2017, DHCS limits recovery to probate-estate assets and specified nursing-facility, home/community-based and related hospital/drug services. No assets at death means nothing is owed.
The person handling affairs must notify DHCS with a death certificate within 90 days. On receiving a claim, promptly check exemptions and substantial-hardship relief; hardship requests are due within 60 days of the claim letter’s date. Use the official forms and contacts to clarify the particular claim.
