FEDVIP 退休接續：牙科視力保險與 FEHB 的規則不同
已參加 FEDVIP 的聯邦文職僱員準備退休時，應分開處理牙科、視力保險與 FEHB 醫保。BENEFEDS 說明，符合即時退休年金條件的已登記僱員，其 FEDVIP 可自動接續；沒有 FEHB 那項退休前五年持續受保要求。

FEDVIP at retirement: dental and vision cover follow different rules from FEHB
Federal civilian employees already enrolled in FEDVIP should handle dental and vision coverage separately from FEHB medical insurance when retiring. BENEFEDS says existing coverage automatically continues for employees eligible for an immediate annuity. FEDVIP does not impose FEHB's five-year prior-coverage requirement.
Retirement itself is not a qualifying life event permitting a midyear FEDVIP change or cancellation. Check the next Federal Benefits Open Season or an applicable event rather than stopping payments as a substitute for cancellation. Initial enrollment for retiring uniformed-service members follows different rules and should not be inferred from this civilian continuation process.
After payroll reports retirement, BENEFEDS arranges annuity deductions. Direct bills may arrive while the annuity is being finalized; pay those bills to avoid cancellation. Check providers, personal charges and coordination with any dental or vision benefits in FEHB, which pay first. FEDVIP has no ordinary temporary continuation option and cannot be converted to an individual policy. Confirm the transition before employment or retirement arrangements take effect.
