Los Medanos

Los Medanos childcare: a waitlist is not enrollment and course withdrawal is separate
Los Medanos College's Child Study Center provides care from birth to age five and also serves as an early-childhood education laboratory. LMC student families receive priority, with staff and community families accommodated as space permits. Submitting a waitlist form does not secure enrollment.
The official schedule opens the fall waitlist on April 1 and the spring list on November 1. Accepted families must complete the agreement and payment steps in their notice. Parents also enroll in CHDEV 22 for two hours weekly and volunteer at the center for another hour and a half each week; include these commitments when planning a study schedule.
Care uses contracted weekly blocks. Reserved hours may remain chargeable during a child's absence, and drop-in care is unavailable. Withdrawing from college classes does not cancel the childcare agreement: submit the separate change or withdrawal form. Call 925-473-7628 about fees, waitlists and current procedures. Rates vary by status and age; campus-based care is not automatically free.
