紐約車貸還清後：保存解除留置權正本，不必一律換 title
紐約車貸全數清還後，貸款機構應提供 lien release，證明留置權已解除。它可能是已簽署的 MV-901，或載明借款人、車輛年份、品牌、VIN、清還日期及解除權益的正式信件。不要只憑網上餘額為零就丟掉相關文件。

After a New York vehicle loan is fully paid, the lender should provide a lien release. This may be an endorsed MV-901 or an official letter identifying the borrower, vehicle year, make, VIN, payment date and release of the security interest. A zero online balance is not a reason to discard the paperwork.
DMV says obtaining a replacement clear title immediately is optional. Keep the original release with the existing title and give both to the buyer when transferring ownership. The required evidence is the signed original, not an ordinary photocopy.
If choosing a clear title, mail the original title, original lien release and a twenty-dollar check or money order to the Title Bureau. Include current-address proof if the address changed. Retain your own records before mailing and confirm the mailing address on DMV's website. Contact DMV about an unfamiliar lienholder rather than altering the title or assuming the record has automatically disappeared.
