Oakland Tool Lending Library: register before borrowing equipment
Oakland Tool Lending Library is at 5205 Telegraph Avenue, telephone 510-597-5089. Its rules restrict borrowing to people over eighteen who reside in or own property in Oakland, Piedmont or Emeryville. Holding just any library card does not automatically establish eligibility.
Registration requires a valid Oakland library card, photo identification, address verification and a signed waiver. A lease, utility bill or qualifying property-tax bill can provide evidence. Ask staff about alternatives if ordinary documents are unavailable rather than supplying an assumed address.
The first loan allows two tools; returning them on time raises the limit to ten, with no more than three power tools at once. The usual loan is seven days, and renewals depend on availability and library decisions. Only the registered borrower may use the equipment. Stop using and return an unsafe or broken tool. This guide reserves neither equipment nor a workshop or repair-service place.
