New York Medical Indemnity Fund: court documentation comes before enrollment
New York’s Medical Indemnity Fund is not ordinary health insurance available for every birth injury. The health department’s official FAQ ties eligibility to a court-approved settlement or judgment identifying a birth-related neurological injury caused by malpractice or alleged malpractice. Enrollment requires the application and relevant court documentation.
The forms page, revised March 2026, provides Chinese, English, Korean and other versions. For enrollment or claims questions, call 855-696-4333 or email NY_DOH_MIF@pcgus.com. Confirm documentation and coverage procedures with the Fund; completing forms does not mean approval or payment of every expense.
