Merritt College free tutoring: enroll in the zero-unit course; Fridays are online only
Oakland’s Merritt College Learning Center offers free academic tutoring. Students must enroll in the zero-unit LRNRE 501 course to use it. The official fall 2026 information lists Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., in L121 one floor below the library. Fridays, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., are Zoom only.
Writing, STEM, biology and other subjects have individual tutor schedules, so the center being open does not mean every subject is staffed throughout. Check the current term’s timetable and prepare course questions and the points needing clarification. The college address is 12500 Campus Drive, Oakland, CA 94619. Enter online tutoring through the official page.
