照顧家人而損失工資：加州 Paid Family Leave 與保留職位要分開看

California Paid Family Leave: wage replacement and job protection are separate
California Paid Family Leave provides partial wage replacement for eligible people who lose pay while caring for a seriously ill family member, bonding with a new child or handling a qualifying military-family event. EDD describes up to eight weeks within a twelve-month period, not an automatic eight weeks or full salary for everyone.
Check employment and State Disability Insurance contribution requirements first. Supporting documents differ: care claims can require medical certification, while bonding and military-assistance claims have their own evidence requirements. EDD says not to apply before the first day of leave and generally to file within forty-one days after leave begins; delay can affect benefits.
Separate income replacement from employment protection. PFL itself does not protect a job. FMLA, CFRA or another applicable arrangement must be considered separately with the employer. Confirm the application steps with EDD; this guide does not decide eligibility or calculate payment.
