VHIO Korean health interpreting in the Bay Area: where to ask before an appointment

VHIO is a UC Berkeley student volunteer organization offering free health interpreting and translation to Bay Area residents with limited English. You can request an interpreter for a clinic appointment or screening event, or ask about healthcare-document translation.

For Korean assistance, contact calvhiokorean@gmail.com; general inquiries go to cal.vhio@gmail.com. Its Korean guidance says patients may need to contact their clinic beforehand, so confirm permission, timing and volunteer availability before the appointment.

Volunteers receive 40 hours of training in interpreting, confidentiality and medical terminology. This is student language support, not medical treatment; immediate placement or coverage of every appointment is not assured.
