ACCORD Wheels for Work: repair assistance in Allegany County, New York
ACCORD helps low-income working families with documented need in Allegany County, New York. The 2026 repair-grant ceiling is 40% of the vehicle’s private-party value, not 40% of the repair bill. The vehicle must be insured, inspected and registered. Obtain two written estimates; repairs require a New York State licensed shop.
Applicants need at least 20 hours of weekly employment at minimum wage, or a verifiable hire letter for at least 20 hours. A license must have no points and meet the seven-year DUI/DWI/DWAI restriction measured from payment of fines. TANF income rules apply. Household categories include a child under 18, or under 19 in secondary school or equivalent vocational education, a pregnant woman, or an applicant who is a non-custodial parent of a minor.
Contact business@accordcorp.org or 585-268-7605 ext. 1711 to confirm forms and documentation. A download still bears a 2022 label; it is not verified here as the 2026 form. Staff arrange an interview and household budgeting. Approval is not automatic; send personal documents directly to ACCORD.
