The Texas Common Course Numbering System aligns general academic freshman and sophomore courses at participating Texas institutions. Choose the correct academic year and both schools, then compare course numbers and titles rather than assuming similarly named courses are identical.
Participation is voluntary, so confirm that the institutions and course are covered. An equivalency supports transfer planning but does not mean every course automatically satisfies a particular major or graduation requirement. Share the result with an adviser at the receiving institution to confirm its place in your degree plan. TCCNS directs students with course questions to their schools.
