Requesting NYC public-school transcripts: current and former students use different routes
Current New York City public-school students can ask their guidance counsellor for records or transcripts. Former students should contact their last school and follow the official request-form and photo-identification instructions. If a high school closed, use the education department’s closure information to find the school holding its records.
Multilingual forms include Traditional Chinese. From age 18, students generally request their own records; another person needs the applicable authorization. Confirm the record needed, delivery method and receiving institution’s requirements, then use the school’s designated email, mail or in-person route. Do not post identity documents in public comments.
