Housing Works

Housing Works donations: distinguish shop, furniture and book limits
Housing Works thrift shops in New York accept gently used clothing, footwear, household goods and books, with furniture requiring advance confirmation. Brooklyn Heights, Second Avenue 64th Street and West Village do not accept furniture. A shared shop name does not make every location suitable for the same delivery.
Ordinary thrift shops limit books to two boxes per donor and offer no curbside unloading assistance. Listed exclusions include mattresses, appliances, large exercise equipment, strollers, cribs and MDF furniture. Check condition and the selected shop's arrangements before carrying goods there. Furniture collection and a personal shop drop-off are separate processes.
The Bookstore publishes its own book-donation hours and limits, potentially affected by events, rather than following the general thrift-shop rule. Housing Works also says its re-fashionNYC city partnership has ended, so an old clothing-bin reference may no longer identify its service. This guide promises no purchase, collection or current stock; confirm acceptance with the particular location before travelling.
