El Cerrito Recycling Center's Exchange Zone lets community members pass usable goods to others. It stands opposite the center office at 7501 Schmidt Lane. Browsing and donating operate at different times, so check before bringing a load.
Browsing is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–noon, and Saturday, 9 a.m.–noon. Donation hours are Monday–Friday, 1–4 p.m., and Saturday, 1–4:45 p.m. Examples include books in good condition, dishware, complete puzzles and small table lamps. Large furniture, mattresses and child car seats should not simply be left there.
The page separately describes an Eco Salvage trailer, eyeglasses delivered to the office, and clothing or electronic-waste routes in the recycling circle. Those are not identical Exchange Zone acceptance rules. Ask 510-215-4350 or green@elcerrito.gov before unloading anything uncertain. This guide announces no particular free item, reserves nothing, arranges no collection and makes no claim about today's stock.
