SUNY Reconnect
SUNY Reconnect

SUNY Reconnect for adults: eligible programs and costs that remain
SUNY Reconnect supports eligible New York adults in approved associate degree programs. Its main route serves people aged twenty-five to fifty-five without a college degree who meet residency or in-state tuition conditions. It does not make every subject at every college automatically tuition-free.
Start with the approved program list, then ask the campus about admission, current places and previously earned credits. The main page notes a fall 2026 exception: people entering eligible nursing degrees may qualify despite having a prior degree. Have the college confirm that exception rather than extending it to unrelated programs.
Support covers eligible tuition, fees, books and supplies after applicable aid, but not housing, transport or other nonacademic expenses. The FAQ specifies at least six credits per semester and completion within ten semesters. Discuss the timetable and funding with an adviser. Withdrawing during a semester can have financial consequences, so free tuition still comes with continuing conditions.
