NYC Care is a care-access program: check eligibility, locations and fees
NYC Care is a health care access program at NYC Health + Hospitals, not an insurance policy accepted by every provider. It serves eligible residents of New York City's five boroughs who do not qualify for, or cannot afford, suitable insurance. Enrollment requires an eligibility assessment.
There are no membership fees or monthly premiums. Charges for care depend on household size and income, so no monthly fee does not mean every service is free. Members receive a card, choose a primary care provider and access care through NYC Health + Hospitals locations.
Call 646-692-2273 to ask about insurance screening and enrollment. Existing members should have their name, provider's name and membership number ready when making an appointment, and bring the membership card to visits. Routine primary care requires an appointment rather than an unscheduled walk-in. Confirm charges, locations and referral arrangements with the program and care team.
