Los Angeles KSP: sharing Koreatown stories across generations

KYCC’s Koreatown Storytelling Program (KSP) brings young people and elders together to record community experiences through oral history and digital media. It works in Korean and other languages. Elders can ask about interviews or sharing writing, art and photographs.

The 2026–27 student page requires high-school participants to live or attend school in Koreatown and commit to weekly two-hour meetings from September 2026 through March 2027, excluding holiday breaks. Bilingual skills are preferred, not required. The program has already begun, so confirm whether additional participation is possible.

Contact ksp@kyccla.org about storyteller participation, interview languages and publication arrangements; student inquiries go to daskew@kyccla.org. Before contributing, ask how recordings will be published and archived and what consent is needed. Student participation and elder interviews are separate routes.
