SLOCOG's free US 101 patrol: two commute routes and the help offered
［Evergreen resource guide | California Central Coast］ SLOCOG's free Freeway Service Patrol covers two US 101 stretches. One runs about 11 miles south from the Los Osos Valley Road interchange in San Luis Obispo to N. 4th Street in Pismo Beach. The other runs north from the same starting point to SR 58/US 101 near Santa Margarita.
Patrols operate during Monday–Friday morning and afternoon commute peaks, with specified holiday breaks; the source does not give exact clock hours. Help includes tire changes, jump starts, radiator refills, temporary hose repairs and a gallon of fuel. Inoperable vehicles can be towed free to a safe place off the freeway. Collision-vehicle and roadway-debris removal takes place under CHP direction.
