Battery Korean War memorial: check construction access before visiting
The Battery’s Korean War Veterans Memorial was dedicated on June 25, 1991. Mac Adams designed its black-granite structure with a cut-out soldier. The conservancy’s monument guide explains its history and design.
At this check, the city’s coastal-resilience FAQ lists the memorial as inaccessible during protection or restoration work. Parts of the park remaining open does not mean the memorial is accessible. Check current Construction Notices before travelling; project enquiries can go to info@batterycoastalresilience.com. The accompanying 2017 photograph does not establish current access.
