OCAPICA: choosing the right multilingual family-service contact
OCAPICA describes its services as free, multilingual and open to Orange County residents. Staff-language examples include Vietnamese, Khmer, Tagalog, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Program areas include youth development, employment, health navigation, housing case support and behavioral health. Explaining both the language needed and the issue helps staff identify the appropriate department.
General, youth, workforce and housing inquiries use 714-636-9095. The main office is at 12912 Brookhurst Street, Suite 410, Garden Grove. Behavioral-health programs have different numbers: Project HOPE/FOCUS lists 714-636-6286 and Well(ness)essity lists 844-530-0240. The general number should not be treated as a round-the-clock crisis line for every program.
Being able to inquire does not establish eligibility for every intensive service, financial payment or housing placement. Confirm referral requirements, income or other criteria, current capacity and appointment location.
