Reporting a suspected safety defect: a complaint is not an automatic recall
Report a possible safety defect in a vehicle or related equipment through NHTSA's Report a Safety Problem service or 888-327-4236. This is a safety-information channel, not a substitute for a dealer appointment or a guaranteed refund procedure.
The agency reviews every complaint alongside other information, but there is no fixed number of complaints required to open an investigation.
