SFSU Korean: the KOR 101–102 sequence and prerequisite
San Francisco State University’s 2026–2027 Bulletin lists KOR 101, First Semester Korean, and KOR 102, Second Semester Korean. Each carries four units.
KOR 101 introduces understanding, speaking, reading and writing modern Korean. KOR 102 continues development of these four skills and requires KOR 101 or equivalent preparation. Students who studied Korean elsewhere should ask the university whether their previous learning meets that prerequisite.
A catalog description is separate from a term’s actual schedule. Check the university’s official schedule and registration guidance for offerings, meeting times, available seats and your enrollment eligibility. This guide does not establish unrestricted community enrollment.
