California Chafee aid: complete financial-aid paperwork as well as the grant application
California Chafee ETV offers eligible current or former foster youth up to $5,000 annually for postsecondary education or training. Rules include qualifying foster-care history between ages sixteen and eighteen, being under twenty-six on July 1 of the award year, and no more than five years of participation, plus study, progress and financial-need requirements.
Complete the one-time Chafee application and the appropriate FAFSA or CADAA, then track progress through WebGrants for Students. The school still verifies payment eligibility; submitting forms is not immediate funding. Applicants with interstate histories should check the ban on receiving ETV from two states. Call 888-294-0153, option three, with questions.
