購買加州廠方回購二手車：核對 title 標記與書面缺陷披露

Buying a California lemon-law buyback: check the title brand and written disclosure
A used vehicle repurchased by its manufacturer because of a warranty defect has a different history from an ordinary private resale. California DMV's registration manual explains that the title and registration card carry a Lemon Law Buyback brand, notifying later buyers of the warranty-related return.
The manufacturer must attach the corresponding decal, usually on the left door frame, and give the transferee written notice of the warranty defects. A dealer knowingly reselling such a vehicle must include a disclosure signed by the new owner with the registration documents. Known comparable brands on out-of-state documents also matter.
Compare the VIN, title, registration card, decal and written disclosure before buying. Ask separately for repair records and the warranty offered with the sale. A statement that the vehicle was repaired does not mean the brand disappeared; the brand alone is not a complete inspection of every defect. This checklist does not determine whether an individual lemon-law claim succeeds.
