Goodwill SF Bay donations: locate the receiving site and retain the receipt
Goodwill SF Bay lists clothing, books, household goods, tools and musical instruments among donation categories, with a location finder. Its filters distinguish Donation Center, Thrift Store and Career Center. Find the actual receiving site instead of treating every Goodwill office as a drop-off point.
Prepare a description of the types, quantities and condition of items, especially large furniture, appliances or electronics. Confirm arrangements with the selected location before transporting them. Electronics have a separate information page, and hazardous materials are outside ordinary acceptance. Do not leave goods outside without confirmed receiving arrangements.
Keep the donation receipt after acceptance. Goodwill says it cannot assign the donor's tax value; an estimated-value guide does not establish an approved tax deduction. A lost receipt can be requested through the official link or by texting RCPT to 628-345-5959. This guide promises neither a branch's current capacity nor a pickup or any particular secondhand stock. Check location details before leaving home.
