A UC Davis TAG is not the regular UC application
Evergreen practical guide, not breaking news.
UC Davis’s Transfer Admission Guarantee and the regular transfer application are related but separate processes. The university’s FAQ says a TAG is not required to apply for transfer admission. Even students with an approved TAG must submit the regular UC undergraduate application during the applicable filing period for the major and term covered by the agreement.
The guarantee depends on satisfying the agreement’s conditions; submitting a form alone does not secure enrollment. Check that courses reported in the TAG, UC application and official transcripts agree, including study at other institutions. Major preparation, grades and other requirements can differ and may change by admission year.
This guide explains the relationship between the processes and helps track an existing TAG; it does not say TAG applications are currently open. Verify dates for the intended entry year instead of reusing an old timetable. The original publication date was not established. INL3 checked the source on October 1, 2026. The library photograph is not a UC Davis campus.
