Pasadena City College Armenian: two introductory levels and placement
Pasadena City College’s 2026–2027 catalog lists ARMN 001 and ARMN 002, two elementary Armenian courses worth five units each. Level 1 develops pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and the four language skills alongside history and culture. Level 2 continues language study with further cultural, artistic and musical context.
ARMN 002 requires ARMN 001 or placement through the college’s foreign-language assessment process. Students with prior study or home-language experience can ask about assessment before choosing a level.
Both courses are listed as CSU/UC transferable, but applicability to an individual major or graduation requirement should be checked with a counselor.
