Cancer Justice: ask Public Counsel about cancer-related insurance denials and appeals
Cancer Justice is now a Public Counsel program and was formerly the Cancer Legal Resource Center. Its current official page lists health insurance, treatment access, insurance denials and appeals, employment during cancer, and medical bills among the legal issues it addresses.
Call 866-843-2572 or 213-736-1455, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Time. The attorney-staffed helpline provides legal education, issue identification and referrals. Explain your state and insurance problem and confirm whether the program can assist with your situation.
Public Counsel announced the program’s transfer in December 2025; this guide follows the current service page. It is a legal-resource introduction, not medical care or individual legal advice, and guarantees neither representation, coverage nor a successful appeal.
