OnRamp vehicle assistance in DFW: a qualified advocate must nominate the applicant
OnRamp vehicle donations require nomination by a qualified advocate; they are not automatic grants obtained by an individual form submission. An advocate works or volunteers through a charity, church, school, health-care provider, employer or government agency and actually mentors, teaches, counsels or cares for the applicant through that organization. A friend or neighbor alone does not qualify. The advocate cannot be related by blood or marriage or romantically involved with the applicant.
Normally the advocate must have known the applicant for at least six months and met multiple times. Request any exception to that period from clientcare@onramptx.org before nominating. The advocate must also confirm a valid driver’s license and the ability to afford fuel and insurance: either the applicant already pays those costs for a vehicle needing replacement, or monthly income exceeds all expenses by at least $300. The advocate commits to at least twelve months of follow-up after a vehicle is received, including contact at least monthly. All six requirements must be met.
The requirements page routes nominations by the applicant’s county. Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Rockwall residents use DFW. The general Nominate page specifically serves Brazos Valley; do not use that form for another branch. Review, a full application and interviews follow a nomination. A vehicle and delivery date are not guaranteed. Direct geographic or eligibility questions to the email above.
