NYC parking-ticket disputes: the 30-day deadline and online hearing follow-up
NYC Department of Finance provides an online hearing route for disputing a parking ticket. Request a hearing within 30 days of issuance to avoid late penalties. Contacting a different agency does not pause that deadline.
Organize supporting material using the official evidence guidance and provide an email address you can monitor. The administrative law judge’s decision after the online hearing is sent there. If additional evidence or an adjournment is requested, follow the hearings-by-mail instructions instead of submitting a duplicate dispute.
If you believe the ticket was already paid or dismissed, use the specific paid-or-dismissed inquiry route identified on the page; the agency says not to dispute it as an ordinary ticket. This city parking procedure is separate from state DMV handling of moving violations.
