災害中斷工作或自僱收入：查詢 DUA，不要假設一般失業保險足夠
Disaster Unemployment Assistance（DUA）適用於因總統宣告的重大災害而直接失去或中斷工作／自僱收入、且不符合一般失業保險的人。必須與指定災害相關，並非所有生意下跌、停工或惡劣天氣都自動符合。
可向工作所在州的失業保險機構查詢是否已開放該次 DUA、涵蓋地區、申請期限及所需工作證明；如已遷往另一州，也可向現居州機構尋求申請協助。先分清一般失業保險與 DUA 的適用途徑，保留州機構回覆與提交紀錄。

Disaster Unemployment Assistance: check the separate route for disrupted work
Disaster Unemployment Assistance is for people whose employment or self-employment is directly lost or interrupted by a presidentially declared major disaster and who do not qualify for regular unemployment insurance. A downturn, work stoppage or bad weather alone does not establish eligibility.
Ask the state unemployment agency about the specific disaster’s program, covered areas, deadline and work evidence. If displaced to another state, its agency can also help with filing. Distinguish the regular unemployment route from DUA and retain the agency’s guidance and submission records. This guide does not announce a currently open disaster claim window.
