Imperial Valley

Imperial Valley noncredit classes: check residence, visa rules and English placement
Imperial Valley College's noncredit offerings cover basic skills, English and citizenship learning. They differ from credit courses and separately listed Community Classes. The official page describes free noncredit courses for California residents and excludes holders of F1/F2 and B1/B2 visas from this route.
The admissions page says eighteen or older, while the ESL FAQ says over eighteen. Someone exactly eighteen should clarify that wording with admissions. For English placement, call counseling at 760-355-6543 to discuss your level and goals; a counselor determines the appropriate assessment and course options.
Noncredit study earns no college units, and the page says it does not appear on the official transcript. It is not a degree or immigration benefit. Off-campus offerings such as Calexico classes still require checking current schedules and space. Confirm residence and status requirements, location and any associated expenses before planning attendance. A course appearing on the website does not establish completed registration.
