搬運二手家具前：把載貨固定列入出發檢查
買到二手桌椅或整理可捐物品後，不能因為東西放得進車頂或拖架，就認為可以安全上路。NHTSA 的載貨指引適用於一般駕駛者，重點是避免物品跌落、移位、滲漏或被風吹走，危及後車及行人。

Before carrying used furniture: include load security in your checks
A secondhand table fitting on a roof rack or trailer does not establish that it can be transported safely. NHTSA's load-security guidance addresses ordinary drivers, with the aim of preventing objects from falling, shifting, leaking or blowing away into other road users' paths.
The agency recommends rope, netting or straps, securing large objects directly to the vehicle or trailer, and considering a sturdy tarp or net over the entire load. Avoid excessive cargo. Before departing, check the back, sides and top again and consider what would happen during sudden braking, a bump or a collision.
Every state and the District of Columbia has relevant laws, but penalties vary rather than following one nationwide fine. If appropriate fastening equipment or load suitability is uncertain, arrange a suitable transport alternative first. This is a departure checklist, not certification of a particular vehicle's capacity or a claim that one rope or a covering alone makes a load safe.
