Search the correct model year and configuration, then use the comparison tool. Stars from different versions or test categories are not automatically interchangeable. Frontal-crash ratings and the Overall Vehicle Score should be compared only within the same vehicle class and a weight difference of no more than 250 pounds. Side-crash and rollover ratings can be compared across classes. These limits follow the testing method; a larger star count does not remove them. Read warning symbols and the detailed results too. A highly rated vehicle can still have a separately identified safety concern. Not Rated means the vehicle was not tested for that crash condition, rather than receiving zero stars. Ratings inform a purchase but guarantee no individual crash outcome and cannot replace a used-car condition inspection.
