Readers researching family history, community organizations or Japanese American experiences can identify it as a collection institution to contact. However, at this review the homepage, contact page and institutional introduction all display the same notice: public access to and use of the holdings has been temporarily closed since May 15, 2026 because of staffing transitions and shortages. The notice supplies no reopening date. This is a temporary suspension of public access, not evidence of permanent closure, and the older weekday-service description elsewhere on the site should not be treated as a current visiting schedule. If you need material on a particular subject, first email info@janlibrary.org with the requested material, research purpose and preferred timing, and ask what inquiries or future access arrangements may be possible.
