English Returned Peace Corps volunteers: initial short-term coverage, extensions and dependents At close of service, Peace Corps automatically enrolls returned volunteers in RPCV Short-term Health Insurance for Transition and Travel and pays the first month. Volunteers may buy up to two additional months. Coverage for a spouse or other eligible dependents is separately paid and requires enrollment during the volunteer’s first month of coverage. This temporary plan does not meet ACA minimum coverage requirements. Service-related conditions have a separate care route and should not be assumed covered by the short-term policy.
