A clinic’s acceptance of Medicare does not mean every treatment or test it offers or orders is covered. The official guidance excludes other chiropractor-ordered services or tests, such as X-rays, massage and acupuncture, from this chiropractic benefit. For a covered Part B service, patients generally still pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after meeting the deductible. Before accepting care, ask the clinic to identify which charges it will submit to Medicare and which are self-pay. This explains coverage rather than recommending treatment.
