Bring venue, supplier and deposit contracts when comparing options. Ask which losses, causes, dates and deductibles apply. Changing your mind, weather trouble or a supplier problem is not automatically a covered cancellation. The cited official article was published in 2020, so its pandemic-era market observations do not describe every insurer today. Check communicable-disease exclusions, waiting periods and cancellation triggers in the actual quotation and policy, including when coverage begins.
