Meetings take one to two hours weekly at the library, focusing on basic literacy and individual goals rather than college credit, a qualification or guaranteed employment. Learners must be eighteen or older, not attending high school, able to speak and understand English, and available for regular meetings. Someone primarily needing beginning spoken English should ask staff about suitable services instead of assuming this literacy program covers every ESL level. Register through 408-730-7390 or literacyap@sunnyvale.ca.gov. The library is at 665 West Olive Avenue. Think about practical goals, such as understanding forms or reading to a child, and explain your available hours. Earlier event listings do not establish a current orientation date. Staff must confirm matching and a start time; the page makes no promise of an immediately available tutor. Original publication date not established. Checked October 2, 2026.
